Instructions
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The file "cv3e.ips" must be patched to the original ROM image to play
this translation. Any IPS patching utility should work. Two commonly
used utilities are IPS.exe and Snestool. You can find these two
programs at most emulation websites.

It's a good idea to:
*** Always keep a backup of the original ROM image. ***

To use IPS.exe, run this at a command prompt:

IPS <ROM NAME> <IPS NAME>

Snestool has a graphic interface that makes it easier. After starting
it, select "Use IPS", then select the IPS file, then the ROM image
that it should be used on.

The game has been thoroughly tested using the Famtasia emulator, but it
should also work properly on the latest beta of NESten. Other emulators
have a few graphical problems when running it.

ABOUT THE GAME
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Duke Serkol:
Why did we translate Akumajo Densetsu (Legend of Demon Castle) since
it was already released to the English-speaking world as
Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse? Because the japanese version is way
better. It uses an extremely advanced memory mapper developed by Konami
known as the VRC6. This makes the Japanese version perform slightly
graphical improvements (in some places) and much better music as it
uses lots of digitized instruments samples. For example, in the first
level, Zombies are more human-like and the Igors are actually the same
nasty critters from Super Castlevania's level 5. And don't miss the
organ in the prologue. Gameplay is a bit different too, the damage you
take when hit doesn't depend on the stage (as for the Eng version),
like 2 bars for the first 2 stages, 3 for the third, etc. It is
determined by the enemy that hits you (making the last stages easier).
Grant has the ability to throw his dagger like Trevor does, but
without spending hearts. For a last note, the battle against Dracula
is easier too, as he can't aim directly at you, and you can restart
right before his chamber. Thanks to Kurt Kalata for most of this info.

NOTES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

David:
This translation isn't completely accurate, but is instead a near
identical copy of the English version's script. But after looking at
the Japanese game a little, I can tell there are some differences and
whatnot left out from the English game. But those haven't been
accounted for in this patch.
