UMIHARA KAWASE  v.2.1
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~

About Umihara Kawase
====================
Umihara Kawase is a platform game that
was released in Japan. You control a
girl with fishhook tied to a rubber
line. With this, you can attack and
catch the various enemies in the game.
But, its main use is to get around.
You need to use the line to maneuver
through the levels through a variety of
techniques, such as swinging or just
pulling yourself upwards. It's neat.

The game comes with an option to watch a
replay of a level you've beaten. The
menus for this is what has been translated.
With this option at your disposal, you
can show off how good you are at Umihara
Kawase using a 2KB SRAM instead of a
significantly larger ZMV.

For those of you who import Japanese PSX
games, there are sequels to Umihara
Kawase by the names of Umihara Kawase Shun
and Umihara Kawase Shun Second Edition. I
think Second Edition is just a remake.

Controls
========

A=Jump
B=Fire line
X=Jump
Y=Fire line
L=Scroll screen left
R=Scroll screen right
Up=Go up ladder/Loosen line
Down=Go down ladder/Reel in line

Have you noticed all the enemies are seafood?
And that there's a fish hook on the end of
Umihara's rubber line? You can catch the fish and
reel them in to score points.
Remember: One hit kills, but some enemies fire
projectiles which will daze you. You can still
use the line while dazed!

Compared to other platformer characters,
Umihara jumps like a girl. Well, she is a girl.
To assist her, she has her line to hook onto
platforms and haul herself around. She can
swing back and forth, if you hold down left
and then right at the right time. Also, if you
can get enough speed, you can let go while
swinging for a little ride through the air ^_^

How to Operate the Replay System
================================
First, you need something to replay.
So, play the game, lose all your lives,
and return the main menu. Go into
the replay menu, and select the option
save.
The save menu will list 10 files,
representing the 10 lives you used.
They're named FIELDxx, where xx is
the number of the FIELD you died
at. Anyway, pick a file and
save it. Now, you can replay it.
Leave the save menu, and you can
either Replay, Rename or Delete
the file. I think it's pretty self
explanatory from there.

What's New?
===========
-Menu text made a bit more professional ;)
-Title message cleaned up
-Save screen bug fixed

What's Left?
============
-Hopefully, nothing.
-Credits - A translation will be on the site.

Translation Notes
=================
-The menus are not exactly the same. The rename menu
used to say what the original file name was and what
the new file name would be, but I couldn't get that
to work properly after translating it :P
-The info screen at the start of the game used to
be TNN's logo...
-The Japanese font in the game originally looked like
a big hairy acne covered ass (that is to say, nasty).
Not MY fault.
